Never Forget

April 5, 2007 at 10:45 pm (Poetry)

Your presence is a gift to the world,
You’re unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be -
Take it one day at a time.

Count your blessings, not your troubles,
And you’ll make it through what comes along.
Within you are so many answers,
Understand, have courage, be strong.

Don’t put limits on yourself,
Your dreams are waiting to be realized.
Don’t leave your important decisions to chance -
Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.

Nothing wastes more energy than worrying -
The longer a problem is carried, the heavier it gets.
Don’t take things too seriously -
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.

Remember that a little love goes a long way -
Remember that a lot goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment,
Life’s treasures are people… together.

Have health and hope and happiness,
Take the time to wish on a star.
And don’t ever forget for even a day…
How very special YOU are!

Offering

March 13, 2007 at 2:14 pm (Poetry)

I can’t even read
if the auspices are good,
as the sun’s jaundiced rays
slice low through the almost mist,
to spot light on the doorstep
what’s left of a wood mouse,
left by our ginger cat:
a head, two front legs, a trail of gut.

I walk round to the garage, get
the small red seaside spade
that I keep for just such occasions,
remove the intestines
and tiny body parts;
this is how the day starts.

Surprising Undergarments

March 13, 2007 at 2:06 pm (Poetry)

conservative politics cover
surprising undergarments worn
after sacred secret ceremonies
in temples built from tithes and offerings
videos show the faithful what to do
garments given Adam in Eden
reveal their eternal origins and destinies

more enticing than Victoria’s secret
offering carnal delights
in polyester coated nipples
heart shaped asses
camel toe crotches
bedroom coitus promises
through come hither eyes

delights you’d think
a teen boy from New York
Joe nobody
would easily succumb to
rather than seek God in the woods
where wanking to magazine goddesses
formed from silicon and makeup
answer testosterone’s call

yet visions of God and Jesus
in light beams brighter than the sun
loosened his tongue
from the power of the devil
proclaimed all churches abominations
despite public ire

imprisoned for his faith
musket ball gunfire death at the hands of
show me state gangsters
fell dead through
his window of opportunity

his revelations live on in
secret signs and tokens invoked
in the confines of bleach white rooms
families chained together forever
wandering grave yards
peering through microfiche
connecting the dots digitally
seeking to bind their ancestors to them

priesthood rites by proxy
performed by teens
in chlorinated waters to wash away sins
learning their lessons from names
a parade of the dead
benefactors of their youthful
bodies in action

paired, clean cut
black suit, name tag wearing
bicycle riding young men
roll across the globe
on a mission to bring
eternal salvation to all God’s children
their loins girded up
in scriptures and surprising undergarments

matrimony their next mission
where the unclean can not enter
no photos of the vows permitted

ordinary in outward appearance
no smoke no drink no coffee nor tea
sacred bodies preserved
with words of wisdom
the worthy
covered with garments taken off only
for bathing, swimming, and creation

in the world but not of this world
the v-chip and parental controls protect them
from Babylon’s enticements
low cut, scanty, and tight clothes
dirty dancing
gratuitous violence
profanity
filtered from their presence

four symbols sliced from
worn out garments
are burned
believers are buried in them
resurrected first
at the anointed one’s hour

I’m Confused

March 2, 2007 at 9:05 am (Poetry)

I’m so confused and in a daze,
Wondering if its love or just a phase.
I’m so confused and about to cry,
My heart has seem to have gone awry.
I’m so confused and in pain,
Not knowing is driving me insane.
I’m so confused and a little afraid,
Is this something bad or do I have it made?
I’m so confused and don’t know what to say,
It only takes you to make me feel this way.

Freedom

March 1, 2007 at 11:57 am (Poetry)

How the years pass by unnoticed,
I have no recollection
Of living the life of a child
Only a passing remembrance of a summer day
Without a care in the world
Was that I running naked through the sunflowers
Beneath a troubled blue sky
The storm rolled in, yet I paid no mind
To the distant rumble of thunder
I could only stare in wide-eyed wonder
At the lessons I learned when my bridges all burned
In a world to which I never returned
Now here am I, though no better through the years
Still I carry no regret and I shed no tears
The days have come and gone, it seems, time still carries on
So like a tumbleweed am I
I drift where the winds carry me
Yet I wonder
Where will I go? What will I be?
Is it safe to rely on destiny?
Can I trust someone will answer me?
